Having a will or trust protects your family and makes certain that your wishes are protected. Our attorneys can assist with preparation, interpretation, determination of beneficiaries, creation of revocable and irrevocable living trusts, and more. Our attorneys are also available to provide representation in the occurance of probate issues, such as court appearances for challenges to wills, determinations of wills, disputes, and more. Call today to schedule an appointment with us.

Georgia Advance Directive for Health Care

Since mid 2007, Georgia law dictated that the Living Will and Durable Power of Attorney for health care will no longer be options for advance directives in Georgia. In Georgia, the Advance Directive for Health Care, which replaces a living will or durable power of attorney, is a crucial part of your health care. A Georgia Advance Directive for Health Care ensures that your instructions are known and followed when it comes time for you to receive medical care. If you find yourself in a situation where your ability to make decisions is limited, your wishes to accept or refuse certain treatments and what type of care you will receive will be legally protected. Having a Georgia Advance Directive for Health Care means that you will not have to worry about how you will be cared for and also that stress and disputes can be lifted from your family.

Financial Power of Attorney

A financial Power of Attorney allows you to designate an individual or multiple people to act on your behalf in regards to monetary and/or property issues. This legal document allows you to define to what extent your representative can use his authority. The Financial Power of Attorney is created while you are mentally competent and usually goes into effect once you are incapacitated and can no longer make decisions regarding your own financial affairs. This document can be altered or terminated as long as you are still mentally competent. Contact us today to schedule an appointment to discuss your wishes.
